units of a university. Indian colleges offer various
courses in liberal arts and sciences. All states in

college of Ludhiana was founded by Dame Edith Mary
Brown. It was the first medical college for women in
Asia.
Medical colleges in India are institutes which offer
medical education. These institutes vary widely,
ranging from singular colleges which train doctors
to conglomerates which train students in other
aspects of medical care. The Medical Council of
India has to confer recognition on institutes for
them to be credible as Medical Colleges. Medical
colleges in India are mostly administered, funded
and owned by private organizations, the government
of India and state government.
There are many colleges offering MBA in India. These
are popularly called business schools. These
colleges offer courses in finance, accounting,
organizational behavior, information systems,
strategy and other quantitative methods. Some well
known business colleges in India are Indian
Institutes of Management, Xavier’s Institute of
Management and Entrepreneurship, Bhubaneshwar,
Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies,
Welingkar Institute, Symbiosis Institute of Business
Management and the Birla Institutes of Management
Technology. Most if these colleges offer
specializations like marketing, human resource,
finance, systems, information technology etc. Some
of the institutes like MICA, Symbiosis and Flame
offer special MBA courses with specializations on
media and advertising. With the boom in the private
and the business sector, more and more MBA colleges
are being established in India with foreign
college’s affiliation. This helps the student to
receive an overall knowledge of the global business
scenario..
